The phone interface of non-participating players changed, the “Identity Execution” interface becoming a voting model for the election. However, only the five players who were still running for Sheriff could be selected. As such, No. 12, Tang Youchen, who had initially been an electoral candidate but had later withdrawn himself from the election, was ineligible to vote.

One minute passed.
The voting process concluded and the results of the Sheriff election appeared on the phone screen.
Those who voted for No. 2, Shen Mu, consisted of No. 7, the player with red lion’s hair, and No. 11, Su Yingxing;
Those who voted for No. 6, Yan Yuze, consisted solely of No. 8, Bai Lin;
Those who voted for No. 10 also consisted of a single player; No. 9, Shen Xin;
The only player to abstain from voting was No. 1, the short-haired girl who potentially had autism;
……
No. 2, Shen Mu, was elected as Sheriff, receiving the 1.5 vote privilege. At that moment, a delicate Sheriff badge appeared next to the number 2 on Shen Mu’s chest.
However, although the election for the Sheriff had concluded, the light in front of No. 6, the player following Lin Huiru who was No. 5, did not light up. Despite it being the specified time at which the speeches ought to have commenced, not a single number at the scene was illuminated, causing everyone to look around them in confusion.
Then, someone realised: “Death Speech.”
Upon opening the phone, a new icon popped up – Death Speech. After clicking on it, a line appeared on the screen:
‘The First Night: No. 5 suspects that No. 2, No. 3 and No. 9 are Wolves.’
“F*** me!”, Shen Mu did not hold back, and thought in his heart, this is too poisonous*!
*T/N: poisonous is synonymous for ‘bad luck’. Poor Shen Mu, Lin Huiru just named everyone in the Third Party as Wolves. ^v^
For a moment, Shen Mu did not know whether to laugh or cry, feeling his right eyelid twitching. Shen Mu suddenly thought of a possibility that had been ignored: Lin Huiru was actually the Seer.
Of course, the Seer couldn’t check the identities of three people at once. Moreover, two of these three people would register as good under a Seer’s investigation. The reason why Lin Huiru named himself, his sister, and his junior sister could be imagined: He and his sister had schemed against her in the last game, and she had always seen him in an unpleasant light. Junior sister… Shen Mu glanced at Su Yingxing out of the corner of his eye… Alas! Good looks can cause unforeseen disasters!
But this still did not rule out the possibility that Lin Huiru might be the Seer. She may have used her ability to check one of them and upon finding that that person was a Wolf, out of selfishness, she had also chosen to report the other two as well?
That’s not right. Shen Mu’s eye twitched again. If Lin Huiru was the Seer, she definitely would have said so in her death speech… he really… after seeing all his teammates being pointed out simultaneously, he was shocked for a moment.
Shen Mu breathed a sigh of relief in his heart. He hadn’t ignored the voting pattern just now. His sister, Shen Xin, hadn’t voted for him, but instead voted for No. 10. Although No. 10 had declared that she was golden water, she had also said that she would check her. Logically speaking, it would be passable no matter which person his sister voted for. Therefore, the reason that she did not vote for him, could only be because No. 9 and No. 10 were both Wolves and were teammates! Based on their hypothesised discussion during the night prior, the Wolves had probably arranged for No. 10 to jump out, and No. 9 to vote for her.
Although his sister was a member of the third party, the Wolves couldn’t possibly know this. Consequently, his sister had to perform the work planned by the Wolf team. Otherwise, the couple would be exposed, and the third party would have a very difficult time winning. The biggest advantage lay in the fact that no one on the field knew whether a third party existed and who was in it. Since the couple would both die if one was killed, their identities must never be revealed.
So now he could be sure that No. 10 was a genuine she-wolf.
But what about the Seer…
No. 7 had voted for him and should not be on the Wolf team, therefore he was probably a good person. Su Yingxing had also voted for him… really a good person ah!
Su Yingxing: “Achoo!”… Is someone scolding me?
At that moment, the light in front of No. 6 suddenly turned green. It seemed that the system only allowed everyone to read the death speech for around a minute.
No. 6, Yan Yuze’s speech started.
Yan Yuze frowned and seemed dissatisfied with the order of the speeches. He coldly said: “Wolves like to knife the people around them so that they can guide the vote by being one of the final few to speak and therefore one of the last to influence the direction of our thoughts.”
After hearing this, everyone’s gaze unavoidably shifted towards No. 4, Du Xiulin. Du Xiulin, however, looked the same as always, unmoved, and even had a very faint smile on his face.
Yan Yuze’s dissatisfaction with Du Xiulin’s attitude was clear for all, his scowl growing deeper. Snorting softly, he continued: “No. 5’s death speech named three people: No. 2, No. 3 and No. 9. No. 3 is No. 2’s golden water* and said that she was a God card. I will listen to what she says later, as she could be in No. 2’s Wolf team. No. 9 is No. 10’s golden water. If No. 9 and No. 10 are both Wolves, then they are not on the same side as No. 2 and No. 3. If No. 10 is a Wolf, and No. 9 is a good person, then No.5’s death speech cannot be true. If No. 2 and No. 3 are wolves, and No. 9 and No. 10 are good people, this death speech is also nonsense. Therefore No. 2, No. 3, and No. 9 can’t all be Wolves at the same time. Are you guys familiar with No. 5?” Yan Yuze frowned, apparently thinking that Lin Huiru’s last words could not be explained by logic unless… it was due to personal grudges.
*T/N: No. 3 is No. 2’s golden water – i.e. No. 3 is the person Shen Mu claimed he had checked as the Seer the previous night, finding that they were good and announcing it in his speech for the Sheriff election.
“No. 5 cannot be the Seer; hence her last words hold little value.” Yan Yuze concluded, before continuing to analyse, “No. 12 claimed to be the Seer during the election before retreating. If he does not reveal his identity, then he will be voted out directly. Now No. 2 and No. 10 both identify themselves as the Seer; hence one must be a wolf while the other would be the true Seer. Now that No. 2 is the Sheriff, I also believe in him more. His speech contains a Seer’s mentality and has the resolution to win. However, the time to vote out the two of you is not today, so we can listen to one more round of speeches. We can also examine No. 7 and No. 11’s speeches, both of whom voted for No. 2, and also No. 9’s speech, who voted for No. 10, in order to hear the logic behind their votes. No. 2, if the Wolves that you identify are similar to who I think they should be, I will recognise you as the Seer.”
“As for who should be voted out today, if No. 12 does not reveal his identity, directly vote him out! If No. 12 says that he is a Civilian, then No. 12 and No. 4 can PK! After all, then we would have two civilians that both chose to participate in the election, one wanting the Sheriff badge and the other using a fraudulent identity… Neither of them has demonstrated the behaviour of a good person! Whoever’s speech is worse will be the first to be voted out. Didn’t the two Seers both identify players as golden water, supposedly having checked them? Then we vote out either No. 4 or No. 12. You guys all believe my identity as the Hunter, right, so today I will directly conclude the vote in advance! Sheriff, I currently believe you to be the Seer, but if you divide the vote*,” Yan Yuze’s gaze turned icy, “Then your identity may be questionable.”
*T/N: Dividing the vote: Yan Yunze is referring to the possibility that Shen Mu may provide an alternative person to vote for, disrupting the voting pattern and confusing the good people, likely with a malicious motive.
Yan Yuze, No. 6, ended his speech. No. 7, the red-haired man followed.
“Hello everyone, I am No. 7, and my name is Zhao Xu.” Inconsistent with his cool style, No. 7 Zhao Xu’s demeanour seemed a little shy.
“En, I am not the Hunter. I believe that No. 6 is the Hunter. I have never played the Werewolf game before. I was pulled into a round of the Suspended Life Game to play ‘When the sky is dark please close your eyes’. After returning to reality, I searched up the game rules, yet remained slightly confused. But I will work hard!”
“What you said makes sense, but I am so confused at the moment! No. 4 said that he’s a very good player and wants the Sheriff badge. I think he seems to be an excellent player. But No. 3 said that she is a God and also wants to be Sheriff… The rules I checked also stated that the Sheriff badge must be given to the Seer… No. 6 claims to be the Hunter and also wants to be Sheriff… Of course, I believe No. 6 is the Hunter!” Zhao Xu quickly added, smiling at Yan Yuze who sat next to him.
Yan Yuze seemed a little helpless. His gaze motioned Zhao Xu to say something of importance.
“En, why did I cast my vote to No. 2? It is because I think he is a good person and the real Seer. He is very logical. There are only three people in the Wolf team, so they are afraid of being voted out, but No. 2 dares to be voted out with No. 10! As No. 7 Zhao Xu ended his speech, No. 8 Bai Lin started her speech.

No. 10’s speech was not right in that she didn’t report who she checked at the very beginning, and this point looks quite bad. I had originally thought that she was a Wolf, but she also said that she would have to check No. 4, instead of directly labelling him as a Wolf. I think this is the mentality of a good person. Although it cannot be ruled out that No. 4 and No. 10 are both on the Wolf team, I always feel like No. 4 is not a wolf since if he was a Wolf, he could directly declare himself the Seer. *T/N: would not dare to be voted out with him – This is because there are only three Wolves, and in the last chapter, No. 2, Shen Mu had proposed voting out both him and the Wolf should the good people be unable to differentiate who the real Seer was.
Bai Lin’s train of thought was explained in a very detailed manner. After saying this, she seemed to be a little relieved, her pace also slowing down. “En, I think No. 4 is not a Wolf. En, I don’t know about No. 12, let’s listen to what he says first. Well, if I don’t know who to vote for, I will abstain and not vote randomly.”
Bai Lin’s speech focused on proving her innocence, and she ended her speech shortly after she explained her thought process.
The light in front of No. 9, Shen Xin, lit up. Since coming to this round, Shen Xin hadn’t had a chance to talk to her brother. Hence, she had been left wondering in her heart whether the Cupid who had linked her into a third party was her brother.

After explaining the reason why she voted for No. 10, Shen Xin seemed a little helpless, as though not knowing what else to say. After thinking about it, she said, “I don’t understand why No. 5 would say that I was a Wolf after she died! No. 2 might be a Wolf; no, if sister No. 10 is the real Seer, then No. 2 must be a Wolf! But sister No. 3 said that she was a God, and if she is a God then she definitely isn’t a Wolf. I am also a good person, so No. 2 is the only Wolf. No. 5’s death speech is inaccurate. I have no idea why she said that I was a Wolf! I’m really not a Wolf… ” At the end, Shen Xin couldn’t help choking up with a sob.
